Changes to the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) from 13 December 2024

We are currently informing important customers such as yourself about updates to the EU General Product Safety Directive. As a result of upcoming changes to legislation, online resellers of Signify products will need to take certain measures before the end of 2024. The upcoming changes are only applicable to e-commerce, and not to physical retail.
The General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) (EU) 2023/988 aims to address major societal changes that have affected consumer product safety during recent decades, such as increasing digitalization and new developments in technology (for example the proliferation of AI and connected devices).
The new EU regulation enters into force on 13 December 2024 and imposes the following obligations in particular in three categories:
- Each product detail page (PDP) of products must include the manufacturer’s name, registered trade name or registered trademark, and contact details, particularly postal address and email address.
- For Signify products of the Philips and PILA brands the address is as follows:

- The company is required to post a link to product safety information on PDP.
- For Philips and PILA LED lamps, the safety information as of 13.12.2024 can be found on the safety information sheet available below or at baltics.partnerportal.pro/technical-documentation.
- For Philips luminaires, the safety information can be found in the Install instructions files available online at www.lighting.philips.com.
- For PILA luminaires, the safety information can be found in the Mounting Instructions files available online at www.pila-led.com/global/manuals.
- Product photos for professional products are available for download in Excel and BMEcat format from the website baltics.partnerportal.pro/ecommerce.
What are Signify’s obligations to you?
In the case of new product introductions, we will automatically provide the required information. In the case of a current offer, we will provide the documents, enabling the implementation of both measures.
